March 11th, 2022 – Kyoto, Japan – Hacarus Inc, the leading provider of lightweight and explainable AI, today announced the launch of its ECG platform, along with DS Pharma Animal Health. The device measures and analyzes the heart condition of dogs, to aid in the early detection of cardiac disease, the second leading cause of death for canines.

The innovative ECG platform creates a stress-free and easy-to-use environment for both canine patients and veterinary technicians. Conventional ECG tests typically require dogs to be held down on their side to prevent movement, which is very stressful. However, the new system will obtain readings directly from the pads on the dog’s paw by standing on a 50 by 60 cm sheet for around only 30 seconds (as shown below).
These readings are then analyzed using HACARUS’ AI model that has been trained using diagnosis data from certified veterinary cardiologists. The results are then instantly displayed on the platform’s “Anisapo” website. Requiring no additional veterinary skills to operate, this system is easy for veterinary clinics to adopt.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, households in Japan have seen an increase in the number of pets as people have turned to dogs as a means of gaining deeper connections and mental healing.
Moving towards the future, HACARUS and DS Pharma Animal Health have plans to expand the service to a platform that supports a wide range of health-related services, not only for dogs but for other animals as well.
