The combined power of HACARUS’ Visual Inspection AI software and VISCO’s Image Processing Inspection System for cylindrical metal parts inspections to be on display for the first time during METAL JAPAN – to be held at Makuhari Messe between October 29th-31st.
September 30th, Kyoto, Japan – HACARUS, on a mission to build the next generation of tools for those shaping the future today announced that it will exhibit at METAL JAPAN. Making a debut at the exhibition will be a new system for simultaneously inspecting the inner and outer surfaces of cylindrical metal parts. The new system has been developed together with Visco Technologies, following a technical collaboration announced in January 2024.
METAL JAPAN is a business fair for technologies and equipment related to high-performance metals, including metal materials (such as special steels, alloys and powder alloys), inspection equipment, and recycling technologies.
At the booth, HACARUS will be exhibiting the new visual inspection solution for cylindrical metal parts, leveraging VISCO’s image processing inspection system the VTV-9000 Series combined with HACARUS Check AI software as an add-on. HACARUS will also be showcasing the HACARUS Check for FANUC CRX series solution.
HACARUS helps achieve digital transformation of manufacturing by linking various robots and imaging devices to its HACARUS Check AI software, which provides highly accurate quality inspections, with AI models that are trained with small & good quality data only – at high-speed.
Solutions on Display
HACARUS Check AI Software × VISCO VTV-9000 Series
A hybrid inspection system, combining AI and rule-based inspections, which allows customers to freely select the best inspection method based on their workpieces. The add-on of HACARUS AI software to VISCO’s broad lineup (which includes high-definition inspection and ultra-small part inspection) allows customers to quickly build the necessary inspection environment and smoothly get started with AI. Furthermore, by utilizing the VTV-9000 controller, AI performance verification can be completed in-house, allowing for quick decisions on when to apply AI to inspections through repeated adjustments.
Use Case: Simultaneous inspection of inner and outer surfaces of cylindrical metal parts.

HACARUS has been working with Visco since January 2024 in a technology collaboration to expand its AI visual inspection business (Reference release: https://hacarus.com/press-release/20240122_news/)
HACARUS Check for FANUC CRX Series
This AI visual inspection solution was developed as a plug-in compatible device for the cooperative robot CRX series manufactured by FANUC Corporation (FANUC) and released in June 2023.
This product has been developed in response to customer requests and inspection environments, and includes a multi-camera option that supports large parts in addition to small parts – all catering to the needs of the automotive industry.
Use Case: 360°inspection and single-sided inspection of automotive metal parts such as aluminum die-casting.
