On January 17, 2023, HACARUS will launch a new run-time license service for HACARUS CHECK AI that supports changes in inspection and helps reduce overdetection.
Software Features
HACARUS Check AI is a visual inspection software that can be implemented as a stand-alone product when you want to prepare your imaging equipment or when you already have inspection equipment.
The “run-time license” is a license with a function to suppress the occurrence of overdetection by allowing the AI to respond to changes in inspection conditions and workpieces (inspection targets) over time through additional learning, even after the HACARUS AI visual inspection system has been installed.
Background
Conventional visual inspection systems require system development each time the inspection target changes due to wear and tear on the inspection equipment or inspection target. Thus, overdetection occurs if the system is not modified to meet these changes. However, with the “run-time license,” the AI learns and responds to changes over time while the inspection process is in operation, thereby reducing the time and cost required for additional system development.
Future Prospects
Due to labor shortages and rising inspection costs, the need for visual inspection automation is expected to increase in the future. Still, at the same time, systems that can flexibly respond to changes in inspection targets are also required. Therefore, HACARUS will continue to develop flexible and efficient AI-based visual inspection systems such as “run-time license.”
About HACARUS
HACARUS INC. provides big insights from small data and has since its founding in 2014, supplied solutions in 100+ AI projects across the Medical and Manufacturing fields. Headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, and backed by Osaka Gas and Miyako Capital (Kyoto University), among others, its technology enables humans to make better, faster, and more reliable decisions based on data-driven insights. HACARUS’ proprietary AI engine is built using Sparse Modeling, a method that understands data like a human would – by its unique key features and is far more resource, time, and energy-efficient when compared to Deep Learning.
